mirror tumbling people small - A frame with a metal difference-
An incredible conversation piece! Inspired by the naïve San rock art of southern Africa. Wooden frames are covered with aluminum and then figures hand-cut from copper and brass are added. The metals are treated with various patinas and sanded effects and the metal shapes are fixed to the aluminum frames using different-sized nails. Marks are scratched around the shapes with any sharp object, such as a sharpened motorbike spoke. Fantastic as a feature above a fireplace or on the wall!
A graphic designer with a group of highly skilled women produce entirely handcrafted and exquisite art. Themes range from animals of Africa, to dancers and tumbling human forms to botanical designs. A keen eye for movement and postures is combined with an abundance of quirky wit.
